TAROE Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of six new Trustees to strengthen its Board of Management following an open recruitment campaign.
New appointments include three tenants who bring a wealth of tenant activism experience to the Board. They are Val Knight, Keith Usher and Joan Swift.
Also appointed to the Board is Steve Hepworth, Chief Executive of Scunthorpe based housing association Ongo, the prominent housing sector lawyer Simon Randall CBE and housing policy specialist Bill Prescott.
Full details of all new Trustees appointed are available on the TAROE Trust website here: TAROE Trust – Trustees
Commenting on the new appointments, Chair of TAROE Trust, Michael Gelling OBE stated:
“We were impressed with the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience amongst the applications received. We are particularly pleased to be able to welcome tenants as charity Trustees to strengthen our direct links with grass roots activities and ensure our work remains grounded in real life experiences.
The sector is facing a period of critical change over the next few years as the Government implements its new Charter. Our new appointments represent a key phase in strengthening our charity so that we may play our part in influencing positive change for tenants.”
The new appointments increase the size of the TAROE Trust Board to ten members. However, TAROE Trust remains open to further changes to its Board membership over the coming months.
Michael Gelling OBE also commented:
“All the applicants appointed bring desirable new attributes to our Board. However, we are conscious that we would like to increase the diversity of our membership further and hope that we can achieve this in the near future.”
